Singer Glaucia Nasser has enchanted audiences in Brazil and abroad, earning critical praise from notable musicians such as Nelson Motta, Roberto Menescal, and Ivan Lins. She has partnered with Chico Amaral, Carlos Rennó, Carlos Careqa, Chico César, Alexandre Lemos, Rodrigo Bergamota, Magno Melo, Edu Krieger, André Abujamra, and Márcio Nigro, and continues a partnership with multi-awarded percussionist Sammy Figueroa.
Nasser’s song “Lábios de Cetim” from her first album was selected for inclusion in the Putumayo’s album Acoustic Brazil, alongside Caetano Veloso and Chico Buarque, among others. “Lábios de Cetim” also appeared in the 2009 Oscar-nominated film The Visitor. Her song “Balanço Zona Sul” from her second album Bem Demais was featured on television at all Brazilian airports, and also inside TAM’s flights.
Nasser’s third album, A Vida Num Segundo, was named among the Top 20 of 2008 by music critic Daniel Achedjian, alongside other major Brazilian recording artists.
In 2010, the release of Nasser’s album Vambora kicked off an International tour throughout Brazil and the United States. Her latest recording project Talisman was recorded with Sammy Figueroa and will be featured at Festival Miami. In Miami, Nasser is often heard on WDNA’s Fine Arts Concerts series.
