Instrumental Conducting Programs at the Frost School of Music

If you are passionate about pursuing a career as a conductor, the Frost School of Music looks forward to hearing from you.

Instrumental conducting candidates for the Master of Music (M.M.) and Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A.) degrees work closely with the Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble, or Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra. There are limits on the number of students we can accommodate to ensure ample podium time. While there are many qualified applicants each year, the acceptance process is highly competitive.

Successful candidates are outstanding musicians with a passion for conducting. We look for students who demonstrate exceptional musical talent, skills, and leadership qualities.
