Thomas Keck
Associate Director of Bands
Thomas Keck is associate director of bands in the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami where he conducts the Symphonic Winds, directs the Frost Band of the Hour, and teaches courses in conducting and music education. He earned the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Conducting from Arizona State University and holds music education degrees from the University of Illinois and the University of Iowa. Previously, Keck served as Assistant Director of Bands and Director of Athletic Bands at The University of Georgia and the University of New Hampshire. Frost School of Music names 2013 Outstanding Seniors for their academic and artistic excellence.
The University of Miami Frost School of Music announced the Ft. Lauderdale based Georgina Dieter Dennis Foundation has awarded the school $50,000 for vocal scholarships in the academic year 2013-14.
Frost School of Music students were once again well represented in DownBeat magazine’s 36th Annual Student Music Awards, with 11 awards bestowed on ensembles, soloists, arrangers, composers and engineers.
