The University of Miami Tuition Stabilization Plan (TSP) allows for prepayment of a student's entire remaining undergraduate tuition at the current rate. For example, an entering freshman would pre-pay four years of tuition and a student transferring to the University might pre-pay two or three years.
The TSP relieves students of concerns relating to future tuition increases and may also offer substantial savings in future tuition expenses. The TSP is only available upon a student's initial full-time undergraduate enrollment and must be paid in full by the regural tuition payment deadline(August 1st for the Fall semester). This plan does not cover summer or intersession classes, mandatory fees, health insurance, housing and/or meal plan charges. Those charges must be paid separately.
The TSP is a sensible alternative for families and independent students paying for tuition from existing savings or investment accounts. With increases in tuition rates at most Universities running above current inflation rates, a participant's savings in tuition increases may more than make up for the loss of investment income.
The TSP is designed to be used by full-time students who do not receive any financial aid or merit/need-based scholarships.
This payment plan requires consecutive semester enrollment (excluding summers and/or intersession). If a student withdraws from the University, the unused tuition will be refunded without penalty, as outlined in the TSP agreement.
