What is a "student account"?

A student account is a clearinghouse for all University charges, such as tuition, room and meal plan, credits (payments) and/or financial assistance. A student's account is automatically set up when the tuition deposit has been paid.

How can I find out if I have an outstanding balance?

Students can find the amount of their outstanding balance by checking the myUM system.

Can I pay by credit card?

The University of Miami currently accepts on-line credit card tuition payments. Students must sign onto the myUM  system and select the "Financial" link under the "Student" tab.  Then select the option for  "Billing and On-Line Payment" and subsequent on-line instructions will then be provided for your convenience.  Once payment is processed, a confirmation email will be sent to the student’s email address noted in the University’s database. The student’s account will then be systematically updated with the payment.  Please note that a non-refundable 2.5% convenience fee will be added to the amount due to the University by the University’s credit card provider .

When do I pay?

Tuition and charges related for current term must be paid by the "Due Date" noted on the Registration Billing Statement which is always before the first day of the semester. It is easiest to complete payment online through the University's myUM system. On-line payments through the myUM system include electronic personal check payments (free of charge) and credit card payments (convenience fee charged).   If the bill is an Accounts Receivable bill for miscellaneous charges such as parking, library, etc., the "Amount Now Due" is due by the due date to avoid additional finance charges. Students using these on-line payment options will be sent automatic and immediate payment confirmation emails when the payment is processed.
