The University of Miami Vending Services Department manages three important operations:
The University has an exclusive full service beverage agreement with Coca Cola. As such, all campus beverage vending is supplied and served by Coca Cola.
The University has an exclusive full service snack vending service agreement with Gilly Vending. As such, all campus snack vending are supplied and serviced by Gilly Vending. Gilly Vending has the right and ability to provide a full assortment of snacks, cold and frozen foods, healthy snack/food options, milk products, coffee and fresh fruit.
The University’s laundry services provider is Mac Gray Campus Laundry Solutions. The nine laundry room facilities are located in each Residential College. The University utilizes state of the art high efficiency Maytag washers and dryers. The laundry rooms are open 24 hours a day. Washers and dryers may be used at no cost to resident students.
BEVERAGE/SNACK MACHINE REFUNDS
To refund moneys to customers who did not receive correct merchandise or services. The vendor(s) operating vending machine(s) will refund money to persons who do not receive merchandise. We handle vending machines throughout the University of Miami’s Coral Gables Campus and Medical Campus including The University of Miami Hospital. You will need to know the machine number and location of the machine when reporting your loss. You may need to provide your name, address and phone number to process your refund.
Coral Gables Campus
To obtain a refund and or report a problem for any vending machine on the Coral Gables Campus please contact (305) 284-3584. You will need to have the vending machine number when calling about the machine. Once you have contacted Auxiliary Services and a report has been made you can pick up your refund at the Cashier’s office in the Ashe Building.
For vending machine problems and or refunds on the Medical Campus please contact (305) 284-3584. You will need to have the vending machine number when calling about the machine. The refund process is done via mail. We will need a mailing address to send your refund directly to you.
The University of Miami Hospital
For vending machine problems and or refunds at The University of Miami Hospital please contact (305) 284-3584. You will need to have the vending machine number when calling about the machine. If your refund is for a snack item you may visit the cashier on the first floor. You must provide the machine number in order to receive your refund. If your refund is for a beverage from a Coca Cola machine, you will receive your refund via mail. We will need a mailing address to send the refund directly to you.
BEVERAGE/SNACK MACHINE INSTALLATION
The University, by contract, allows authorized vendors to install vending machines providing food, beverages and other items at convenient sites in residential Colleges, Schools, classroom areas and administrative buildings. The food and beverage machines are located in groups to provide customers a better selection of products and ease of stocking and service. Machines will not be installed if they are a nuisance or are in appropriate to the location or decor.
Departments interested in obtaining a vending machine, or machine, should proceed in the following manner:
1. Have the installation approved by the appropriate person responsible for the area where the machine(s) are to be installed, i.e. the Department Head, Dean, Chairperson.
2. Determine if the location contains the utilities required for the installation, i.e. electrical, required space, etc.
3. Contact the Department of Auxiliary Services and indicate:
1. The desired location of the machine(s). Note: vending machines cannot be installed in stairwells or in hallways.
2. The types of products desired in the machine(s).
The Department of Auxiliary Services will contact the authorized vendor(s) and ask that the machine(s) be installed. The vendor(s) will monitor the sales from the machine(s) and if the machine(s) do not provide adequate sales, the machine(s) will be removed at the discretion of the vendor(s).
Please note that installation of new equipment may be subject to approval by the University’s Buildings and Grounds Committee.
All service problems, abuse or misuse of any vending machine should be reported immediately to the Department of Auxiliary Services at 305-284-3584.
