Semester Activities

The IEP offers a variety of activities to give students the opportunity to learn and use English outside the classroom and to further introduce them to American culture and university life. Past activities have included overnight trips to Busch Gardens in Tampa, Universal Studios and Disney World in Orlando; day trips to Jungle Island and Florida Keys for snorkeling, 4th of July picnics on the beach; and on-campus activities, such as International Thanksgiving, ice cream socials, lunches, magic shows. Employment

IEP students with F-1 visas may work on the campus of the University of Miami only for a maximum of 20 hours a week when class is in session. Learn about employment opportunities

Travel

Please consult with the Associate Director if you plan to travel outside of the United States during your time as an IEP student. You will need to make sure that your immigration information and documents are current. Learn more about traveling with your F-1 visa
