Dear Colleagues,

As we get closer to the launch of our inaugural Week of Well-Being, April 1 to 5, I wanted to remind you of the importance of taking care of yourself and your family. Most of us lead busy lives—and with all of the commitments we have at work and home, it can be difficult to find enough time to do something for your health. There are ways, however, in which you can add physical activity into your daily routine, without too much disruption. Click on the video to the right to view tips on how to advance your wellness by getting active at work.

If you haven’t yet blocked your calendar to attend at least one of the exciting events we have planned for the Week of Well-Being, now is the time. Here are some highlight events you won’t want to miss:

  • Healthy Cooking with Chef Michelle Bernstein, Monday, April 1 (registration required)
  • Wellness Fairs, April 2 at RSMAS, April 3 on the Coral Gables campus, and April 4 at the Miller School
  • Outdoor yoga at the Gables and Miller School Wellness Fairs (with free yoga mats and healthy snacks) at noon

In addition to those events, the School of Education and Human Development is hosting an online game on the Miller School and Coral Gables campuses where a limited number of guests will enter into a virtual world of wellness titled “Wellness In Your Hands.”

And if you have trouble sleeping at night, please be sure to attend “Get a Good Night’s Rest,” a special presentation by Miller School faculty member Ashwin Mehta, M.D., M.P.H. about how you can get the rest you need.

These are just a few of the great things we are bringing to the University community. I encourage you to visit our Week of Well-Being website to view the complete event schedule, including satellite location activities and registration details.

I look forward to seeing you in April.

Thank you, and have a healthy day.
