All individuals who wish to take courses for graduate credit, whether or not they wish to become candidates for a degree, must apply for admission to the College of Engineering (CoE) and be accepted prior to registration in accordance with the application deadlines.

The traditional minimum cum grade point average (gpa) and GRE score seen by applicants given serious consideration for admission are listed below:

  • B.S. in engineering applying to M.S. program, 3.0 cum gpa and a 300 or higher on the GRE revised general test (1000 or higher on previous GRE scoring-scale).
  • B.S. in Engineering applying directly into Ph.D. program, 3.5 cum gpa and a 310 or higher on the GRE revised general test (1200 or higher on previous on GRE scoring-scale).
  • M.S. in Engineering to Ph.D. program, 3.5 cum gpa and a 305 or higher on the GRE revised general test (1100 or higher on previous GRE scoring-scale).

Students who do not have a degree in an Engineering field can still apply and will be considered by the admission committee, but if admitted pre-requisite coursework is traditionally required before being formally admitted in the Engineering graduate program.
