Masoud and Maria Shojaee are one of the many
families and individuals who have made a commitment
to the University of Miami and are leaving a lasting
legacy at the School of Communication. The family
made a $1.5 million donation to name Shojaee Hall,
a state-of-the-art facility located on the new
School of Communication International Building
which will house a lecture hall that can accomodate
up to 140 students and employ the newest technologies.
Shojaee Hall will be able to hold conferences
any place in the world through its teleconferencing
and simultaneous translation capabililties. It
will also have the power to supply full audio
and video bandwidth for global viewing.
"I am a true believer that technology and
convenience should be a collective effort. We
are very excited that we can propel the School
of Communication into the global communication
arena," says Masoud Shojaee, President of
Shoma Development Corporation.
The family also intends for one-third of their
gift to support endowed scholarships for the University.
"As alumni of the University of Miami, my
husband and I are proud to support deserving students'
academic endeavors," says Maria Shojaee.
