Mario J. Gabelli, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer
and Chief Investment Officer of Gabelli Asset
Management Inc., is well known for his savvy
investment advice. An authority on value investing,
his focus is on undervalued "diamonds in the rough"
with a high probability of achieving their intrinsic
value over time. What does he consider an
exceptional value investment for his firm's
charitable Foundation? University of Miami students.
"Gifts from our Foundation underscore the continuing
belief that the University of Miami will continue to
attract some of the most academically-gifted
students in the nation," says Mario Gabelli.
Gabelli Asset Management, Inc. (NYSE:GBL),
headquartered in Rye, New York, with offices in Palm
Beach, Reno, Greenwich, Chicago, Minneapolis and
London, has approximately $23 billion in assets
under management. Gabelli Asset Management is a
provider of investment advice and institutional
research to mutual funds, institutional and high net
worth investors. Mr. Gabelli founded the firm in
1977 as a broker-dealer and it has since grown into
the diversified financial services corporation it is
today.
Currently a member of our Ashe Society, Gabelli
Asset Management has donated to the University for
more than a decade, providing vital scholarship
support to the School of Business. The Gabelli Asset
Management Scholarships, awarded based on financial
need and academic merit, offer much needed
assistance to our undergraduate Finance majors.
Through the long-term generosity and commitment
of Mr. Gabelli, the University is able to offer a
tangible resource for promising students and
scholars to achieve their goals. "In these very
challenging and uncertain times, the University of
Miami continues to be a beacon for all, particularly
those who are training our next generation of global
leaders," concludes Mario Gabelli.
