Legacy Program
The University of Miami Legacy Program was designed to recognize the commitment and support of its alumni to their alma mater in choosing to send their children or grandchildren to UM. The University of Miami Alumni Association (UMAA) works closely with our campus partners to ensure a successful transition to college life at UM for our legacy families.
Legacy Admission
The University of Miami continues is rise in prominence among academic research institutions around the world largely to the support and contributions of our alumni. As admission to UM becomes increasingly more selective, it is important that we pay special attention to our relationship with alumni and take exceptional care in evaluating legacy applications.

UM Alumni Association Legacy Scholarship
Eligibility for the Legacy Scholarship is automatic for any legacy student who applies for admission and qualifies for financial aid.

Legacy Move-In Day
In conjunction with the Department of Residence Halls, the UMAA provides legacy students an opportunity to move on-campus early by participating in "Legacy Move-in Day".

Legacy Reception
Each fall before the beginning of New Student Orientation, the UMAA hosts a reception to welcome new legacy families to campus.
