UMAA Members have a number of benefits available to make your return visit to campus more enjoyable and memorable
Alumni 'Cane Card
Your Alumni 'Cane Card is your official alumni ID, offering access to the Otto G. Richter Library, the Wellness Center (separate membership required) and to get discounts at the University Book Store. After you order and receive your University of Miami Alumni Association Membership Card visit the Division of Continuing Studies and International Education in Allen Hall on the Coral Gables to purchase your official Alumni 'Cane Card.
Otto G. Richter Library
Alumni who either present valid photo identification with a current address and a University of Miami Alumni Association card or carir Alumni 'Cane Card have full room use access at the Otto G. Richter Library, and are eligible for borrowing privileges at the cost of $50 per year. In order to have computer use access, you must obtain a temporary CaneID after entering the library at the circulation desk In addition, alumni who have registered on 'Cane Connections can access the Alumni Library Portal, which gives access to a wide variety of electronic journals and research resources. Bill Cosford Cinema
University of Miami alumni get a discount ticket price for all movies at the Bill Cosford Cinema in the Memorial Building in the Coral Gables campus. Tickets are $6 for all University of Miami alumni with valid Alumni 'Cane Card (see above). For a complete listing of movies and screenings, visit com.miami.edu/cosford/.
Wellness Center
The Wellness Center is the premier fitness, recreation, and wellness facility located on the Coral Gables campus. Since opening in January 1996, the Wellness Center staff has welcomed thousands of members and guests every day. Group exercise classes, intramural sports, wellness programs, and instructional classes are just a few of the activities offered. All alumni are eligible for membership (copy of diploma or Alumni 'Cane Card required for documentation).
Toppel Career Center
The Toppel Career Center is committed to providing alumni with the opportunities and resources to get world-class career preparation. An effective career planning process can help you while you are beginning to change careers, advance in a chosen field, or find a career direction. The Toppel Career Center offers an array of career services that are available to alumni, as well as programs that can enhance your experience as you seek employment or admission to graduate school.
Registrar Services
The University of Miami Office of the Registrar provides a range of services for alumni, including providing transcripts, verification of enrollment/degree, and readmission to the university for continuing education or additional degree pursuit.
Miami magazine
Miami magazine is the award-winning publication of the University of Miami and its alumni. Published by the Division of University Communication, Miami magazine reaches out to almost 127,000 alumni and friends of the University, depicting the University as a dignified yet lively place. Miami magazine shows how the young and dynamic University has evolved into a major research and teaching institution.
University Credit Union
Chartered in 1947, the University Credit Union is a full service, not for profit financial institution, offering top rate banking, lending, and investment services. Alumni of the University of Miami are eligible to open memberships in the University Credit Union.
