PARENTS INFORMATION

Cane 4 A Day is a unique experience for your accepted son/daughter. Your son/daughter will be able to see firsthand what life is like if they choose to attend the University of Miami in the fall.

Here is some helpful information for parents whose son/daughter is participating in Cane 4 A Day:

>>Directions to campus: Click here to download our visitor's guide for directions to campus and parking information while you drop off your son/daughter.

>>Dropping off your son/daughter: On your son/daughter's scheduled day, student guests will check-in and be met/greeted by Office of Admission staff and their Cane 4 A Day Host. We ask that parents allow their son/daughter to become immersed in the activities from the time they are dropped off. If you have any questions about the weekend/program, you're welcome to ask an Office of Admission staff member before you drop off your son/daughter.

Suggested activities for Parents while their son/daughter is participating in Cane 4 A Day:

Just because your son/daughter is going to have a great time while they're with us on campus, it doesn't mean you can't have fun without them. Here are some suggested activities for the day -

>>Campus Tours: Remember that we are still conducting campus tours that parents can join while their son/daughter is participating in Cane 4 A Day activities. For a full schedule, go to www.miami.edu/visit.

>>Self-Guided Tours: If you'd rather take a self-guided tour, you can download our self-guided tour and take a look around on your own. Perhaps have lunch at the food court or the dining hall...or just sit and enjoy the day on campus. Click here to download the self-guided tour.

>>Accepted Student Open House - April 1, 2012: Families who may still be in Miami on April 10th are welcome to join us for our Accepted Student Open House.

>>Explore Coral Gables and the surrounding area: We encourage parents to explore the Coral Gables area and other surrounding areas like Coconut Grove and South Beach, so that you'll see what we offer students in the city. Go to http://www.miami.edu/index.php/about_us/visit_um/coral_gables_and_the_region/ for suggestions on where to visit and what to see while you're in town.
