AMS/Industry/Government Graduate Fellowships
Applicants must be entering their first year of graduate school in the fall of 2000. An applicant must provide evidence of acceptance as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. institution at the time of the award. Students must pursue a related full-time course of study in the atmospheric or related oceanic or hydrologic sciences over a full academic year. Candidates must be U.S. citizens or hold permanent resident status and maintain a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. The Society encourages applications from women, minorities, and disabled students, traditionally underrepresented in the atmospheric and related oceanic and hydrologic sciences.

AMS/Industry/Undergraduate Scholarships
Scholarships are available to full-time students entering their junior year in the fall of 2001. Applicants must have successfully completed two years of study by August 2001 at an accredited institution with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Candidates must be United States citizens or hold permanent resident status. There are two categories of students are eligible: 1) Students who are enrolled or who are planning to enroll in a course of study leading to a bachelor's degree in the atmospheric or related oceanic or hydrologic sciences. 2) Students who are enrolled in a program leading to a bachelor's degree in science or engineering who have demonstrated a clear intent to pursue a career in the atmospheric or related oceanic or hydrologic sciences following completion of appropriate specialized education at the graduate level. Clear intent must be demonstrated by presentation of a proposed program of study for the junior and senior years designed to prepare the student for admission to a graduate program in the atmospheric or related discipline. Enforcement of the student's plans by submission of a written statement from one or more faculty members familiar with his or her objectives.

Predoctoral Fellowships in Biological Sciences
80 fellowships will be awarded by the Howard Huges Medical Institute for full-time study towards a Ph.D. or Sc.D. degree in the biological sciences. The fellowships are intended for students who have completed less than one year of graduate study toward M.S., Ph.D., or Sc.D. degrees in biological sciences. Graduate students must have received an accumulative undergraduate GPA of more than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Graduate students should be maintaining a GPA of more than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale during Graduate School. Sophomores and Juniors must have an accumulative college GPA of more than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Freshman must have an accumulative high school GPA of more than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Candidates must complete an application & submit unofficial transcripts [if selected, an official transcript will be required].
