Phi Delta Kappa Scholarship Grants for Prospective Educators
Individuals who meet one of the following criteria may apply directly to PDK International through the online application: (1) High school senior intending to major in education who is a good standing member of the Future Educators Association, (2) High school senior intending to major in education who is the child or grandchild of a Kappan in good standing, (3) High school senior intending to major in education who has one of his/her reference letters written by a Kappan in good standing, (4) An undergraduate member of an FEA or PDK chapter who is enrolled in a college education program.

Ray Greenly was Vice President of Research and Member Services for Shop.org, the digital division of the National Retail Federation, before losing a year-long fight with cancer in the fall of 2005. Roy W. Likins Scholarship-AWWA
The Florida Section American Water Works Association will annually award up to $2,000 scholarships per student to eligible students pursuing a degree relating to the drinking water industry. The scholarship will provide reimbursement of tuition, books, and fees through the College/University Financial Aid Department over the upcoming two (2) year period. Scholarships will be awarded in both undergraduate and graduate categories. Applicants must 1) be an upper level undergraduate (over 65 credit hours) or graduate student enrolled in an accredited Florida Institution and currently majoring in an area related to the drinking water industry; 2) have a minimum 3.0 grade point average based on a 4.0 system; and 3) not be a prior scholarship recipient of this award.

The Sallie Mae Fund Unmet Need Scholarship Program
Scholarship applicant must: be a US citizen; have a family adjusted gross income for calendar year 2007 of $30,000 or less; demonstrate unmet financial need of at least $1,000 after the financial aid award package has been determined; be a high school senior or graduate planning to enroll or a student already enrolled in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited postsecondary institution; and, have a cumulative GPA between 2.5 and 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or GED average test score between 42 and 52.

William Randolph Hearst Endowed Fellowship for Minority Students
Candidates for this fellowship are highly motivated, current, non-graduating graduate or undergraduate students from underrepresented communities of color. Each candidate should have an excellent academic record and also have the following:

  • Demonstrated interest or experience in nonprofit organizations, philanthropy, and the social sector;
  • Excellent research and writing skills;
  • Demonstrated financial need; and
  • U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent residency.

    This is not a scholarship. The student must be able to work as an intern for 12-15 weeks in the Washington, DC, office of the Aspen Institute during the academic semester in which the fellowship is awarded. Fall and Spring interns will work part-time (15-20 hours per week) and Summer interns will be full-time. All travel and housing costs must be covered by the student.
