What is the value of a University of Miami education? Some students say:
• It's the real world experience they attain through our hands-on, early on approach to learning;
• It's the opportunity to experience diverse cultures which helps students better prepare for a global world;
• It's the expertise of our faculty and the faculty commitment to help our students succeed;
• It's the preparation for today's competitive job market or graduate school;
These are just a few of the reasons attending the University of Miami is a sound investment, and we are here to help make your education affordable.
The University awards academic scholarships to incoming students based on their academic achievements. For more information, including selection criteria please visit our Scholarships page.
Financial aid at the University of Miami may include University, government, and private funding in the form of gift aid, education loans, and work-study. For the 2010-2011 school year, students received over $400 million in financial assistance.
Our staff works closely with prospective and current students to help ensure their understanding of how financial aid works, the overall cost of attending UM and other financial resources to consider.
We encourage all of our eligible prospective students to consider applying for financial assistance. To be considered for need-based financial aid, you must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). In addition, all Florida state aid programs also require the FAFSA. Please visit our Office of Financial Assistance website where you can find more information.
