Admission and financial aid applications that remain incomplete after the deadline will be at a distinct disadvantage and likely will not be admitted. Institutional funds may not be available to student aid applications which remain incomplete after the published deadline.

CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE

Registration and completion must be done online at:

2. Click on CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE

You and your parents. If your parents are divorced or separated, the CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE application should include data from the parent that you live with (your custodial parent). If your custodial parent is remarried, the information should include his/her spouse.

Must be completed online. Please use UM’s CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE code, 5815.

FAFSA (Free

for Federal Student Aid)

Student applicant and at least one parent must apply for an FSA ID first at fsaid.ed.gov. Then apply online at:
1. www.fafsa.gov
2. Click on 2017-2018 FAFSA. (available October 1, 2016)

When you complete the CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE, you will be given instructions for
the online Noncustodial Parent’s Statement.

Your noncustodial parent. This is the parent with whom you do not live. If you do not believe you will be able to complete the Noncustodial Parent Statement, please contact OSFAE to discuss your options.

Business Farm Summplement

If you or your parent own a business or a
farm as indicated on the federal tax return
please complete and submit the Business Farm Supplement available through the Collegeboard's IDOC portal.

Important Tips:
 
Apply for an FSA ID from the Department of Education early: fsaid.ed.gov
 
Be sure all required signatures are provided on paper applications, or signature pages are printed and mailed in absence of an FSA ID.
 
Keep a checklist and copies of all forms submitted. Put the applicant’s name and UM’s ID# on all forms submitted.
 
Check your IDOC Portal and Canelink Account before the deadline to confirm our receipt of your financial aid application materials.
 
If you or your parent are not required to file a federal tax return and will not be filing, please submit the IRS non-filer letter, available through www.irs.gov, and the 2015 Employer W-2s (if applicable).
