Our Mission Statement
The University of Miami's stated mission is to disseminate knowledge and encourage growth and development in its students through the dedicated guidance of its faculty, staff and administration in a diverse environment of freedom, creativity, scholarship, tolerance, respect and exploration. The goal is to produce graduates who are prepared to enrich and elevate society.
To this end, the mission of the Office of Financial Assistance Services is to support, to the fullest possible extent, the overall university mission by accomplishing the following:
|Provide all clientele with service that emphasizes sensitivity, compassion, professionalism and timeliness;|
|Maintain an environment that respects the confidentiality of the information shared with the office in the course of conducting its business;|
|Formulate and disseminate materials and information designed to facilitate completion of the financial assistance application process;|
|Provide a highly trained, professional staff;|
|Develop and employ state of the art technology as a supplement to personal attention in the efficient delivery of financial assistance;|
|Demonstrate, through action, a commitment to continuous improvement of service;|
Provide leadership at the University, at state and national levels, in areas of student advocacy, financial aid legislation, regulation, and efficient use of technology and resources.

Advising services are available in the Advising Center located on the Second Floor of the University Center.
The office is open between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Walk-in Advising Hours:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Wednesday 10:00 am to 5:00 p.m.

Student Consumer Information
A new provision in the Higher Education Act requires institutions to provide current students a list of the information to which they are entitled with instructions on how they may obtain it.
