Senior Assistant Director
Counselor for students in: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska , North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin
Hometown: Bexley, Ohio
I was born and raised in Bexley Ohio, an old tree-lined suburb of Columbus. I am a proud alumna of the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music. When I am not recruiting students, I enjoy making music, catching rays with friends on South Beach, and giving back to my community through the Junior League of Miami.
Where can you find a place that provides a diverse student body, not just geographically, but ethnically and socioeconomically? Where can you find a place that supports your pursuit of multiple majors or minors in different schools/colleges? Where can you find a place that lets you take classes because you want to, not because you have to? Where can you find a place where students truly love their campus enough to wear university apparel every day?
My answer: The University of Miami
What’s your favorite memory of attending UM?
I loved every minute of my undergraduate experience at the University of Miami, but my fondest memories were of the Rathskeller. Most ‘Canes refer to the Rathskeller as The ‘Rat’ and it is the meeting place where they can be found squished into gliders or passing by just for a second on their way to class. If you visit campus make sure to grab lunch at The Rat, and if it happens to be Thursday you can catch some live music too!
What advice would you give a high school student applying to UM?
I would tell students applying to the University of Miami to make sure to submit all of their application materials by the application deadlines! Our CaneLink system allows students to track their application materials, so I would encourage high school seniors to familiarize themselves with the system. Lastly, visit campus! Fit is so important in the college process, and there isn’t a better way to find out UM is a perfect fit than to visit!
