About Me:
I am from Stone Mountain, GA, although this can be “debated” as I’m a child of the military, born in Wurzburg, Germany. I attended the University of Miami for undergrad and also received a master’s degree. I enjoy volunteering in the community, spending time with my family and staying on top of current events. As a former communication student, I recognize that a new story is a good story!
Why UM?
UM does an outstanding job of combining one’s academic career with student life. A medium-sized community with a home-like feel, the U provides students the autonomy to grow intellectually while developing meaningful relationships. Being located in a place that serves as an international business and media mecca, there is always something going on for students to explore.
What’s the best memory you have of attending UM?
That’s like asking me to choose a favorite child! I loved all my memories at UM.
What advice would you give a high school student applying to UM?
Don’t count us out simply because of the price tag. Apply, see what happens and evaluate your resources (i.e., scholarships, grants, financial aid, etc.).
