Counselor for students in: New York
Hometown: Annandale, VA
I grew up in Northern Virginia, right outside of Washington, D.C. and am a proud alumna of the University of Miami's School of Business Administration. When I am not recruiting future 'canes, I like to spend time with family and friends, and explore all that the city of Miami has to offer.
Why should a high school student choose UM?
The University of Miami is truly one-of-a-kind and offers a college experience unlike that offered at any other institution. Our students enjoy the tight-knit community and educational benefits associated with being a mid-sized private university, along with the numerous involvement opportunities, strong sports programs, and immense pride typically found at larger state universities. Located in the picturesque Coral Gables, there is no better place to live, learn, work, and grow!
What's the best memory you have at UM?
I truly loved every minute of my undergraduate experience at the University of Miami, from cheering on the Hurricanes at sporting events, to getting involved on campus, to holding exam study sessions with classmates, to catching up with friends at the Rathskeller. One memory in particular that defined much of my college experience was the process of creating a new student organization on campus and building it to be one of the largest organizations in the School of Business Administration.
What advice would you give a high school student applying to UM?
Before submitting your application, review it for accuracy and make sure it is the best possible representation of your strengths. Also, submit all of your application materials before the deadline! In addition to doing research on the many opportunities offered at UM, a campus visit is really the best way to determine fit and see why it's great to be a Miami Hurricane!
