I was raised in Pennsylvania and attended California University of Pennsylvania and the University of Pittsburgh. Since moving to Miami I’ve been inspired to start a balcony garden and join a dragon boat racing team..
Why UM?
A high school student should consider UM because of the diversity and opportunities the University offers our students. UM is truly a unique place to be.
What is your favorite place on campus?
My favourite place on campus is the campus itself, which I often describe as being a tropical garden. Walking to and from work each day is such a pleasant experience (except when it's raining) because the campus is so beautiful.
What advice would you give a high school student applying to UM?
My advice to applicants is to try to take both the SAT and ACT if possible. I suggest taking two tests junior year and one in September or October of senior year. I also recommend that students continue taking challenging courses throughout their four years of high school.
