Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES)
The purpose of the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) is to promote the increase of biomedical engineering knowledge and its utilization. Specifically, the goals are to introduce students to the profession of biomedical engineering, expand the knowledge of BMES members on the tools and techniques used in biomedical engineering and other related fields, and develop leadership abilities and professional qualities among members. Currently, BMES brings in distinguished members of the biomedical engineering community for presentations and seminars. The Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) was incorporated into the University of Miami (UM) February 1, 1968 as a non-profit organization.
Eligibility
Membership is open to all graduate and undergraduate biomedical engineering students, and to students in related science and engineering fields. To become a member, please pick up an application for membership in the Biomedical Engineering Office (MCA 219).

If you are a junior or senior with a minimum of 3.3. GPA, and have completed at least six BME credits, you would qualify to join the Alpha University of Miami Eta Mu Beta chapter. This association has been established to recognize and encourage excellence in Biomedical Engineering.
