• Contact your International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) advisor and schedule an appointment to discuss your options if you are experiencing financial difficulties.

• If you and your ISSS advisor determine that a short-term, emergency loan for no more than $1,000.00 would be appropriate, then do the following:

• Complete the Student Short-Term Emergency Loan Application – click here.

• Submit the completed form to your ISSS advisor.

• Please allow three business days for processing of your application for a short-term, emergency loan before you collect the approved loan application from ISSS. You will need to take the approved loan application and your UM ID to the Cashier’s Office on the ground floor of the Ashe Administration Building on the Coral Gables Campus to receive your loan.

• Upon repayment of the loan to the Cashier’s Office in the Ashe Building, please bring the repayment receipt to ISSS.

• Please e-mail your ISSS advisor if you have any questions regarding requesting a short-term, emergency loan from ISSS.
