Ibis Yearbook Wins Third Gold Crown Award
Coral Gables, FL (March 20, 2008) - Out of 1,355 college magazines, newspapers and yearbook entries, the 2007 Ibis received its third Gold Crown Award, the first being in 2004, and the second in 2007. The Gold Crown Awards, given by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association, have been presented annually since 1982 and are considered some of the most prestigious awards for collegiate publications.
The Awards Convocation took place on March 16 in New York City and publications were judged by the Board of Crown Judges, on writing/editing, design, concept, photography, art and graphics. "The amount of work it takes to produce a yearbook is unimaginable. Countless hours were put in by our entire staff, luckily we had a great group of people on board who made it a fun experience. It's amazing to see our hard work come full circle with an award like this. I am extremely proud to have been part of a great staff, lead by Joanna Davilla (2007 Editor-in-Chief)," said Sarah Baird, Editor-In-Chief, Ibis Yearbook.
Among the Ibis staffers collecting the award were, Sarah Baird, Christopher Rackliffe, people section editor, and Jessi Vondrak, academics editor (2008).
