Geisha Williams is vice president of Distribution for Florida Power & Light Company (FPL). She is responsible for the planning, engineering, construction, maintenance and operation of the electrical distribution system which serves the 4.4 million customers in FPL's service territory. Ms. Williams also has principal responsibility for restoration of the power grid after natural disasters such as hurricanes and tropical storms. Ms. Williams joined FPL in 1983 and has served in a variety of positions in customer service, marketing and distribution operations. She received a BS in industrial engineering from the University of Miami and an MBA from Nova Southeastern University. Ms. Williams is on the Board of Regents for Leadership Florida, a member of the Dean's Advisory Council for the College of Engineering at Florida International University, and a member of the AEIC Power Delivery Committee. Ms. Williams has been an active participant and fundraiser for the Miami-Dade and Broward United Ways for many years and is a graduate of Leadership Miami and Leadership Florida. Ms. Williams is married to Jay Williams, an attorney in Miami-Dade County, and has two daughters: Annie (11) and Carolyn (7). Geisha Williams will be the keynote speaker at the 2006 College of Engineering Homecoming Breakfast on November 3, 2006, at the Biltmore Hotel.
