Scholarships and Financial Aid

Financial Aid

Most forms of University of Miami financial aid are available to UM students studying abroad. When you participate in a semester or summer study abroad program through IEEP, you will be registered via the UM Registrar for the study abroad program. For semester programs, you will be enrolled as a full-time student and charged regular full tuition costs. For summer programs, you will be registered at UM for the number of credits of that program or course (ranging from 3-9 credits). Consequently, most forms of UM scholarships and aid that you receive when normally enrolled at UM should kick in just the same. The same grants and scholarships available to you for semester programs will likely not be applicable to summer study programs. Students receiving financial aid from other institutions should contact their financial aid office to determine if the aid is transferable.
