RESEARCH:

I conduct both theoretical and applied research in the areas of computer vision, image processing, machine learning, and biomedical image analysis. My goal is to develop novel fully automated methods that can provide robustness, accuracy and computational efficiency. I am working towards finding better solutions to existing open problems in the above areas, as well as exploring different scientific fields where my research can provide useful interpretation, quantification and modeling.

PROJECTS:

1. Textured objects segmentation

2. Multi-class object detection and recognition

3. 2D and 3D segmentation of low and ultra-high resolution Optical Coherence Tomography data (retinal tumor detection and study of the human tear dynamics).

4. Simultaneous tracking of multiple C. elegans swimming and extraction of locomotion features for aging analysis and phenotype classification

5. Automated detection and recognition of specimens in images acquired with a new In Situ Ichthyoplankton Imaging System (ISIIS)

6. American sign language recognition

7. Tracking in clutter

8. Cells and cell vesicles structure and motion modeling
