Housing
Unlike typical college dorms, UM's five residential colleges have faculty masters and their families living alongside students. Representing a wide range of academic disciplines, nationalities and ethnic backgrounds, our faculty masters not only connect with students making the transition from high school, but they also foster intellectual curiosity and growth in young scholars. In addition to the faculty masters, our residential colleges are each staffed by a full-time professional Residence Coordinator (RC) and a team of student Resident Assistants (RAs). Freshmen parents should make arrangements for their children to live in the residential colleges, as required by the university.
Meals
All undergraduate students living in UM's residential colleges during the fall and/or spring semesters must purchase one of four meal plans, good for service in the dining halls when class is in session. Students don't need to carry cash since all transactions are done through Cane Cards, UM's debit card that tracks meal credits and Dining Dollars.
