Leadership Development Programs

Through LEAD UM (Leadership Education And Development) the Butler Center meets the needs of our diverse student population by providing an array of opportunities and resources including, but not limited to, the following:


   Lead and Serve Week
     Freshmen Leadership Academy
An annual week held on September 4-7, 2007 to introduce ideas of volunteerism and leadership as well as informed of the programs, services, and opportunities through the Butler Center. The Lead and Serve Connections Fair and Student Leader Networking Reception are held during this week.
  A 12 week program designed to position 50 incoming freshmen on the fast track to becoming a leader on campus through enhancing their first-year experience at the University of Miami. 


   Leadership Summit      Leadership Recognition &
   Awards

A one-day professional conference for UM students. Leadership Summit 2008 was held on Saturday, January 19, 2008.


  The Butler Center recognizes students on a monthly and annually basis for their service endeavors in the community and leadership contributions on campus.


   Senior Reflections      I.M.P.A.C.T.
A senior capstone seminar held annually in the Spring.   Weekend leadership retreat. Check back for info about the Fall 2008 I.M.P.A.C.T.
   S.T.R.I.V.E. Community      Leadership Workshops
(Serving Together Reaching Integrity, Values & Engagement) A living and learning community committed to civic engagement, volunteer service and leadership.
