Entrance Loan Counseling
Students who borrow under the Federal Family Education Loan Program for the first time are required to complete counseling before their loan proceeds can be released.
As of July 1, 2008 per new federal regulations, any graduate students who will be receiving a Grad Plus Loan for the first time will need to complete or re-take the Entrance Loan Counseling session.
Fall 2008 and Later
If you are accepting loans for Fall 2008 or later, you may complete your counseling requirements by logging into http://www.miami.edu/myUM. From the menu select "Student", then "Financial". In the Financial Aid section, select "Documents/Action Required". Select the term for which you have accepted your loans and click on the Loan Counseling session link. If you have any questions as you complete the counseling requirements you may contact the student accounts office at 305-284-6430 option 5 or saccounts@miami.edu.
Summer 2008
